The automotive industry relies on SensorData and its state-of-the-art technology in designing the cars of tomorrow.
From testing a state-of-the-art high-speed supercharger topping 50,000 rpm for GM + Vortech to characterizing the performance of Ferrari’s electric motors producing 40,000 rpm for its flagship electric vehicle, SensorData’s rotary transformers were up to the task.
These challenging scenarios have forged a long term relationship with Ford’s Front End Auxillary Drive (FEAD) development program. SensorData helped develop Ultra-Special wireless torque sensors for testing viscous damper crankshaft pulleys. Other underhood sensors applications included monitoring torque, hub loads, and belt tension while accessory events were in progress. The extreme, under-hood harsh environments provided a unique challenge for delivering multiple environment measurements, but were ultimately proven very successful with SDT’s specialty designed wireless transducers.
